As with the original Snuggies, the Microplush Snuggies are machine washable. We do recommend that you turn the blanket inside out and wash them on a gentle cycle using cold water.

No. Just like the original Snuggies, the thick Snuggies are made of fleece. But, because the fleece is thicker, it is softer to the touch. It is almost buttery to the touch.
